Gray sky after rain; still some patches of snow. Scores of mergansers off the southern shore. Two loons off the eastern shore, one flapping its wings. Coots and a few mergansers near the northeast marsh; a pair of horned grebes; a few buffleheads. Pair of cardinals in the brush. More light rain.
