Creek over its lowest bank. Gray sky, wind from the southwest. Fishermen o the southwest dock. Loon diving nearby; another sighting farther north; maybe the same or maybe the pair of white-throated loons seen together and apart earlier this week. Half a dozen birders with scopes and binoculars at different points around the lake, in search of "the" red-throated loon previously reported. Perhaps one of this pair? Meanwhile the hundreds of gulls have left the lake, except for one, perched on the rail of the fishing dock.

Pair of immature loons—or nonbreeding red-throated loons?—moving north along the southwest shore. Mature loon in the distance said to be a red-throated loon. Hundreds of gulls in a line down the center of the lake.
