Loon diving nearby; another sighting farther north; maybe the same or maybe the pair of white-throated loons seen together and apart earlier this week. Half a dozen birders with scopes and binoculars at different points around the lake, in search of "the" red-throated loon previously reported. Perhaps one of this pair? Meanwhile the hundreds of gulls have left the lake, except for one, perched on the rail of the fishing dock.
