Strong breeze from the northwest, raising whitecaps. Goose on the nest on the small island in the southwest inlet; great blue heron standing at attention nearby. Hundreds of coots off the western shore; a few scaup. Dozens of eared grebes and pied-bill grebes near the band shell, mixed with mergansers farther to the east. Gulls in the air.
